Dr Chew Weng Yew
President and Chief Executive Officer
Dr Chew is a practicing Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in a Private
Hospital in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He qualified as one of the first batch of
Medical graduates in 1969 from the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. He was
subsequently trained and worked in the United Kingdom as an Obstetrician and
Gynaecologist, obtaining the Fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons of
England in General Surgery and of the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh in
Gynaecological Surgery in 1973. He also obtained the Membership of the Royal
College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of London in 1975, being elevated
to the Fellowship of the same college in 1985. He has been in private medical
practice as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist since 1975.
Since his return from the United Kingdom to Malaysia in 1975, he has been
involved in a number of business ventures including having previously held
substantial equity in LKH Industries Bhd and S&P Food Industries Bhd, both
KLSE listed companies.
He was also a key member in the management of Wembly Rubber Products Sdn Bhd
acting as executive deputy chairman until he sold out his shareholding in the
1990's. This company is involved in the manufacture of rubber examination and
surgical gloves, urinary catheters and disposable endotracheal tubes.
Through his years of medical practice and involvement in the business world, he
has established a wide network of business contacts and extensive experience
with regards business trends and the complexity of modern day business
management.
Christina Tennant Chew
Executive Director
She was educated in Canada and specialised in Business Studies. After
graduation she worked for two years for the Local Government, Taxation
Department in the area of Computer Programming. Christina then studied and
became a Registered Staff Nurse in the United Kingdom, specializing in Plastic
Surgery, Midwifery as well as Children's Nursing. She worked in a neo-natal
surgical intensive care ward in England before coming to Malaysia in 1974.
Mrs. Chew acts as the primary contact for media related communications within
the Company. She connects well with people and has a flair for Public Relations.
She is a key member of the company who organizes and ensures that the company
functions smoothly and efficiently.
Thomas Ng Chee Yang
Finance Manager
Mr Ng had his Formal training at Deloitte for 4 years, leading a team on audit
and special assignments. He joined the Travel Industry in a large Travel Agency
in the Finance Dept, remaining there for 7 years. He was the immediate support
staff to the Financial Controller.
Mr Ng has a strong analytical mind. He is always thinking 'out of the box',
coming up with new ideas on how to build, develop and expand the Company
further. He is highly committed and hardworking.
Maznah Ahmad
Manager, Reservations and Ticketing
Maznah has been working in the Travel line for the past 19 years. She handles
both Reservation and Ticketing for walk-in, Government Officers as well as
our Corporate Clients. Apart from supervising the other 4 Ticketing Executives,
Maznah organizes, maintains and manages the Reservation and Ticketing Department.
As head of the Department she has many responsibilities and 'wears many hats'.
Maznah is 'on call' for our Clients who require last minute urgent bookings.
She carries a laptop which contains the Central Reservation System. This has
proved to be invaluable to clients who require Seamens Fares, urgent Corporate
Travelers as well as FIT's.
Mazrina Marzuki
Business Development Manager
Mazrina is a Graduate of Tourism Management as well as Marketing. She has been in
the Travel line for the past 8 years. She specializes in the area of Product
Development. She also assists the Tour Department in Planning as well as Sales.
Mazrina is a very efficient member of Staff who pays great attention to detail and
is willing to 'go the extra mile' for her clients as well as her fellow Staff Members.
Sharon Wong
Manager – Incentives / Special Projects
Sharon joined ProHighway Travel in January 2001 after working as an
Entrepreneur in the Fashion line managing three boutiques for many years.
Commencing employment as Supervisor of Cruise Operations she was promoted to
Tour Manager in April, 2005.
Sharon completed a one year on-line course with the Australian Tourism Board
and is known as an 'Aussie Specialist'.
She is a very hardworking and conscientious member of Staff who is always
willing to 'go the extra mile'. She is excellent at tailor making itineraries
and 'thinks out of the box' when planning exotic holiday destinations for those
clients who like adventure!
In January 2006, she was appointed as Tour Manager for Special Projects. Her portfolio
includes Christian Pilgrimage Tours to Israel.
Rena Chow Wai Fong
Tour Manager
Rena began her career in the Hotel Line and then moved on to Travel. She has
worked her way up the ranks over the past 18 years having worked in Operations,
Product Development, Inbound as well as Tours. With her vast experience she is
definitely an 'all rounder'. In January, 2006 Rena was promoted to Manager of the
Tour Department. Clients can be assured that when Rena plans your Travel Itinerary,
even the smallest request will be taken care of.
